It may well be that the Arabs are uncomfortable with Arla foods, but this is not the case in EU where the dairy giant was the Danish company that received the largest bag of money.
Arla received in 2005 DKK 714 million in EU aid, it appears from a statement which Center for analytisk Journalistik (Center for Analytical Journalism) has got hold of. Danish companies received EU aid to the total amount of DKK 9.7 billion in 2005. Even the mortgage lender Nykredit received EU aid – namelig DKK 20 million.
