NKT 2nd quarter disappointed

NKT Holding’s 2nd quarter 2010 showed revenue of DKK 3,635 million compared to DKK 3,144 million in the same period last year. The EBIT result inclusive of restructuring costs rose to DKK 160 million from DKK 146 million. Earnings before tax amounted to DKK 138 million in the second quarter of 2010 against DKK 120 million in the same period last year, and the net result rose marginally to DKK 85 million from DKK 94 million. Operational EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes and depreciations) for the 2nd quarter 2010 amounted to DKK 282 million exclusive of restructuring costs.
NKT maintains its expectations for the full year 2010. The group thus expects an operational EBITDA of about DKK 1,000 million exclusive of costs for structural measures. The group expects that revenue will show an organic growth of 6-10 pe cent. The unchanged expectations are a big disappointment to the analysts who – according to SME Direkt before the the release of the financial results – had expected an EBITDA for 2010 of DKK 1,158 million.
