As hoped for by many analysts, the half-year financial report from FLSmidth was accompanied by an upgrading. FLSmidth adjusts its expectations for the full-year revenue upwards to DKK 20-21 billion against previously DKK 19-20 billion. The expecations for the EBIT ratio in 2010 is maintained at 8-9 per cent.
The reason for the upgrading is that the order intake increased 127 per cent to DKK 12,716 million against 5,611 million in the first half-year 2009. Thus the order backlog increased 26 per cent to DKK 26,621 million since the turn of the year – DKK 5,500 million more than at the end of 2009. Improved exchange rates had a 6 per cent positive impact on the order increase. Acording to SME Direkt the analysts expect on average revenue in 2010 of DKK 20.6 billion and an EBIT ratio of 8.8 per cent which is at the upper end of the FLS expectations for an EBIT ratio of 8-9 per cent.
The record order intake in the Mineral division now makes FLS believe in revenue of DKK 9-9.5 billion against previously DKK 8-9 billion. The revenue expectations for the Cement division are now DKK 9.5-10 billion instead of DKK 9-10 billion. The financial crisis continued its negative effects. In the first half-year revenue decreased by 13 per cent to DKK 9.4 billion, and the profit for the period amounted to DKK 491 million, a decrease of 46 per cent compared to DKK 904 million in the first half-year 2009.
