Vestas Confirms New UK Order

Just a day after Vestas announced another major Chinese order, the Danish wind power company has confirmed that it is to supply a British company with wind turbines with a has a total capacity of 66 megawatts (MW)
The order, which was placed by the UK-based Devon Wind Power Ltd., is for 22 units of Vestas’ V90-3.0 MW turbines, which will be installed in North Devon in South West England. Delivery is scheduled to be completed in April 2011. The order covers the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines.
Yesterday Vestas announced a new order from China’s largest developer of wind energy, Longyuan Power Group for 18 units of its V80-2.0 MW turbines totaling 36 megawatts. The new deal is the latest in a series of new Chinese orders for the Danish company.
Devon Wind Power Ltd is a subsidiary of ESB Wind Development UK.
