Industry in high summer spirits

New seasonally adjusted figures from Statistics Denmark show that the production in the previously struggling industrial sector continued to increase in May by 4.4 per cent compared to April.
Thus the production is 1.9 per cent above the level at the same time last year but as much as 20.1 per cent lower than two years ago, Statistics Denmark wrote.
It is the production of non-durable consumer goods which shows the largest improvement by an increase of 7.2 per cent from April to May, and the production of durable consumer goods has increased by 5.7 per cent in the same period.
In the period, the industrial sector saw an increase of the order intake of 13.4 per cent.
The export markets accounted for an increase of 16.1 per cent whereas the home market showed an increase of the order intake of 5 per cent.
