Zealand Pharma to receive DKK 110 million milestone payment

Zealand Pharma announced a milestone payment of DKK 110 million to be received from its French partner Sanofi. The milestone is a consequence of Sanofi’s completion of the global GetGoal Phase III clinical trial program for lixisenatide in Type 2 diabetes.
“The successful completion by Sanofi of the extensive GetGoal Phase III program for lixisenatide in Type 2 diabetes marks a major milestone for Zealand Pharma – both operationally and financially,” said David Solomon, President and CEO of Zealand Pharma.
Under the license agreement between Sanofi and Zealand Pharma, Zealand Pharma is eligible to receive additional development and sales milestone payments of up to DKK 1.2 billion, if things proceed according to plan. /Ritzau Finans/BNS
