Danske Bank: Loan impairment charges soared in Q4

As regards earnings, the fourth quarter was the best quarter for Danske Bank in all 2011, but the the annual accounts for both all year and the fourth quarter are flawed by loan impairment charges which were considerably higher towards the turn of the year.
In the fourth quarter the loan impairment charges amounted to DKK 4.8 billion, whereas the quarterly impairment charges consistently amounted to about DKK 2.8 billion in the first three quarters.
In total, the loan impairment charges amounted to DKK 13.2 billion for 2011 – just over DKK ½ billion lower than in 2010, but in the course of the year the development took a bad direction.
In the fourth quarter the loan impairment charges amounted to DKK 4.8 billion, whereas the quarterly impairment charges consistently amounted to about DKK 2.8 billion in the first three quarters.
In total, the loan impairment charges amounted to DKK 13.2 billion for 2011 – just over DKK ½ billion lower than in 2010, but in the course of the year the development took a bad direction.
