Strong Novo Nordisk result leads to upgrading

02-02-2012 11:22 CEO Lars Rebien Sørensen, Novo Nordisk, is once more able to surprise the market and present a far better annual result than expected. Novo Nordisk now expects sales growth in 2012 of 11-15 per cent measured in Danish kroner and a growth in operating profit of 7 per cent against previously 11.5 per cent. In local currencies the Novo management has also raised its sales expectations to 7-11 per cent against previously “a high one-digit sales growth”. The growth in operating profit is, as before, expected to be 10 per cent in 2012.

The expectations are raised and CEO Lars Rebien Sørensen and his CFO Jesper Brandgaard are able to present a far better 2011 result than expected.

Both net income and operating profit exceed the market’s high expectations. Operating profit rose 18 per cent from 2010 and amounted in 2011 to DKK 22.4 billion on sales of enormous DKK 66.3 billion. The analysts had expected an operating profit of DKK 21.5 billion and sales of DKK 65.8 billion.
