Unchanged pessimism in construction

There are no changes in neither the industry’s nor the construction sector’s view on the economy in January. The latest data from Statistics Denmark show that the industrial sector’s confidence indicator is unchanged 5 and roughly speaking unchanged -22 for the construction sector.
With a +5 the industry’s confidence indicator remains just about at the same level as the two last years. Last year the index declined from 11 to zero when the growth stagnated over the summer period.
As far as the construction sector is concerned, the index fell from plus 25 in 2006 to minus 50 in 2009. But the confidence indicator now seems to be stuck around minus 20, which has been the level since February last year.
