Vestas gained market shares in Germany and USA

Last year, Vestas captured market shares in both USA and in the big German wind turbine market where the unrivalled market leader continues to be German Enercon. This appears of data published by the German wind energy institute, DEWI GmbH.
Last year Germany installed wind turbines with a total capacity of 2007 MW compared to 1551 MW the previous year. Of these Vestas accounted for 422 MW, corresponding to a market share of 21 per cent after a share of 14.6 per cent in 2010.
This makes Vestas No. 2 after Enercon, which accounted for 1194 MW or 59.5 per cent of the total market. The local players Repower and Nordex with market shares of 9.7 and 3.9 per cent respectively were ranked as no. 3 and 4 after Enercon and Vestas.
