Surprising decline in unemployment

The unemployment declined in December by 1,100 to 160,500 unemployed persons. Thus the unemployment is 6.1 per cent and lower than expected. A panel of economists had estimated an unemployment percentage of 6.3 per cent.
“It is worth noticing that the seasonally adjusted unemployment for the last months has been downgraded. According to Statistics Denmark, the unemployment percentage for the last four months is 6.1 per cent of the labour force.
The unemployment has been rather stable since February 2010 of between 6.0 and 6.4 per cent of the labour force.
