Coloplast surprises with new upgrading

25-01-2012 13:41 The stock exchange favourite Coloplast surprised once again the market and announces higher expectations for the coming year than expected. It had been expected that the medico company with today’s release of the financial report for the first quarter 2011/12 would have to lower the growth estimates for 2012. But the opposite happened. The company still expects an organic revenue growth of about 6 per cent. Revenue growth in DKK is now expected to be about 8 per cent. The company also still expects an EBIT margin of about 27 per cent at constant exchange rates while the EBIT margin in DKK is now expected to be about 28 per cent.

The Coloplast management added that the financial expectations particularly will depend on the US business and that “the current growth in the European business will improve throughout the year.”

Contrary to the expectations, the result for the first quarter of the financial year does not live up to the analysts’ expectations. Profit for the period was DKK 484 million against the expected DKK 511 million according to estimates collected by SME Direkt. Operating profit (EBIT) amounted to DKK 693 million compared to the expected DKK 716 million. Organic revenue growth was 4 per cent and revenue rose to DKK 2,654 million.
