Arla’s Arab breakthrough

24-01-2012 11:57 Arla Foods has had a breakthrough in the Middle East. After five years’ toil and trouble and considerable losses revenue is now larger than before the Muhammad crisis which triggered a consumer boycot in several Arab countries, the newpaper Jyllands-Posten wrote today.

“2011 has been a breakthrough for us. The development has reversed, and we no longer look back,” said Finn Hansen, director for emerging markets and responsible for Middle East and Africa.

“The Middle East is now defined as an emerging market, and this means that we are eyeing acquisition opportunities in the region. In the coming years the investment level will be considerably higher,” he said.
