Slight fall in unemployment

26-08-2010 10:16 The unemployment fell slightly in July to 4.1 per cent from 4.2 per cent the previous month. However, the gross unemployment being the sum of the registered unemployed and the re-training available persons continues to rise to 6.3 per cent or 171,000 persons, it appears of Statistics Denmark’s monthly statement. With the fall in the unemployment to 4.1 per cent there are now 112,800 persons without a job in terms of full-time jobs and seasonally adjusted.
»The seasonally adjusted unemployment has been stable between 4.1 and 4.3 per cent of the labour force through the last 11 months,« Statistics Denmark wrote.
During the last three months the number of unemployed persons has fallen by 2100 persons corresponding to 2 per cent. The unemployment among men has fallen by 3 per cent, whereas the unemployment level among women is unchanged. The growth of the gross unemployment is a result of the rising number of Danes available for the labour market. From June to July this group increased by 5800 full-time persons.
»The gross unemployment has increased continually since June 2008 where it reached a minimum of 68,000 persons, corresponding to 2.5 per cent of the labour force,« the Statistics Denmark wrote.
