With revenue of DKK 11.7 billion in 2009 compared to DKK 13.8 billion the previous year the industrial group NKT’s revenue is a disappointment with a decline of 10 per cent
The result before tax and after structural initiatives was DKK 291 million compared to DKK 592 milllion for 2008. Net result was DKK 238 million compared to the analysts’ expectations of DKK 203 million.
The company describes 2009 as a difficult year which ended with satisfactory earnings.
»Under the current circumstances, the board of directors find that the 2009 result is the best possible,« said Christian Kjær, chairman of NKT Holding.
For 2010 the company expects an organic revenue growth of between 6 and 10 per cent.
»2010 will continue to be challenging with uncertain economic conditions and it will also be a year of transition as the results of the many strategic decisions will only have full effect in 2011,« NKT wrote in the annual report.
»A large number of structural initiatives means that the NKT group is now stronger today than it was at the beginning of the crisis,« NKT wrote.
NKT’s net interest-bearing debt amounted to DKK 2.7 billion at the beginning fo 2010 which is also expected to be the level at the end of the year.
