Record prices in housing market
28-09-2006 12:32 af Karsten Jensen
The house prices have risen by over 10 per cent during the summer in several areas of the country, and in August they reached the highest level ever.
And now it is the province which shows the highest rises, it appears of new data prepared by Realkreditnettet, RealView and KMD.
»Surprisingly the house prices have shown strong rises in many places where the market previously lagged behind the areas with expensive houses,« chief economist Sune Worm Mortensen, Realkredit (mortgage lender) Danmark, said.
He notes that the most expensive areas north of Copenhagen broadly speaking have shown no rises in the period June to August.
»We see a clear tendency that the activity in the housing market is moving to the west as a consequence of the recent very strong rises in the housing prices in the metropolitan area,« Sune Worm Mortensen said.
According to the most recent figures the apartment and second home prices tend to go downwards.
